How to Tenth Line a Document

This guide walks through the process of tenth lining a legal PDF document using WakiliGO — from uploading your file to downloading the finished stamped document.

Before you start

  • Your document should be in PDF format.
  • Have the case details ready: case number, court, parties, document type.
  • Have KSh 500 ready to pay via M-Pesa or card.

The steps

  1. 1

Open the tool and upload your PDF

Go to tenthlining.wakiligo.com. Drag your PDF onto the upload area, or click to browse your device and select it. The tool accepts PDF files up to 200 MB.

Tip: If your Record of Appeal has multiple volumes, process each volume as a separate bundle.

  2. 2

    Configure your document details

Fill in the configuration form on the left side of the tool. You will need:

    • Court jurisdiction (e.g. IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF KENYA AT NAIROBI)
    • Case reference number (e.g. CIVIL APPEAL NO. 450 OF 2026)
    • Appellant name
    • Respondent name
    • Document type (e.g. RECORD OF APPEAL VOLUME I)
    • Page count

These details are used to generate the document header in the stamped PDF.

  3. 3

    Initialize the tenth lining engine

Click the 'Initialize Tenth-Lining Engine' button. The tool analyses the document layout and runs the line-stamping process. You can watch the progress in the processing log on screen.

  4. 4

    Complete payment

Once processing is complete, you are taken to the payment step. Choose M-Pesa or card:

    • M-Pesa: Enter your phone number and approve the KSh 500 STK push prompt on your phone.
    • Card: Enter your card details to pay KSh 500 via Paystack.
  5. 5

Download the stamped PDF and receipt

After payment, download the stamped PDF. You also receive a disbursement receipt (e.g. WGO-2026-XXXX | KSh 500.00) which you can copy and include in your client invoice as a disbursement entry.
